  Board Meeting Minutes


August 12, 2014

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m., at the Peppermill Restaurant, Aloha, OR, by Matt

Hackney, President/Director.

Packards driven to the meeting this evening: Howard and Evelyn Freedman

Bob and Frankie Douglas.

Howard Freedman reported there was $5,179.68 in the Club’s Treasury.

The Forest Grove Concours was well attended by the community and a few Packards were

shown/judged. The 2015 theme for the Concours is “Grand Classics” and it is anticipated that

about 50 will attend.

There was some discussion about renaming the Larry Douroux Award, but the idea was tabled and

will remain as it is.

Karla Hackney is working on the Clipper and anticipates an issue to be sent out at the end of

August.

Tom Taylor is considering the Tour Director position in the next election for 2015.

Bob Douglas reminded the members about the Wednesday Cruise-In event on 8/13/14 at

Courtyard Village 10:00-Noon (June Fezler’s home) with a BBQ inside.

Bob also handed out flyers for the Annual Pumpkin Tour to Hood River, October 10-12/2014.

Reservations at The Vagabond Inn are to be made individually. Tours are scheduled to the

Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum and the Rasmussun Pumpkin Farm, and

other sights and events. If you cannot make it Friday, October 10th, then it was suggested arriving

on Saturday, October 11th or even Sunday, October 12th. There will be a special parking area for

the cars.

The Wednesday Cruise-In event to the Robison Home was attended by about 11 cars. Tom Taylor

took 2nd place in the judging of cars. Evelyn Freedman said the residents enjoyed the show.

Howard Freedman reported that he will make reservations for the Christmas Dinner to be held the

2nd Tuesday in December, 2014.

Reminder: The Maryhill Museum Car Show is coming up in October, 2014. Further details will

come later.

George Choban talked about his grand daughter’s wedding and the joy of driving the same or

similar cars used at George/Susie’s wedding and still in the family. The day was a success.

Reminder: The Lake Oswego Car Show is Sunday, August 17, followed by the Charvet’s Annual

Car Party from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

There was general discussion of car restorations, new purchases of cars, and miscellaneous

questions on problems with repairs, etc.

Matt Hackney will be gone in September, so Monte Glud will chair the meeting.
